Manjara Charitable Trust, Latur was established in 1988 under the guidance of Late Hon. Vilasraoji Dagdojiraji Deshmukh, Ex Chief Minister of Maharashtra State. Thinking about the problem of higher education of girl students of economically and socially backward students from rural area, the trust started Smt. Sushiladevi Dehmukh Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Latur – 413 531 (M.S.) in June 1990. Ours is the only Mahila Mahavidyalaya in Latur district with a clear vision and mission stand for the balanced development of our girl students through capacity building and creation of new knowledge. We have a noble responsibility for the holistic development of our students. We aim at forging passionately ahead to face the challenges and fulfill the demands of the 21^st century. We emphasize commitment to social progress, peace and national integration through quality higher education. We are grateful to all the support we receive from Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University. Nanded (M.S.). Frequently, I request the parents, alumni, faculty members and students to join hands with us to fulfill our mission, vision and objectives.

Higher education is passing through a competitive globalization. The development of Human Resources is challenging as well as mandatory for young generation. Our Vision and Mission is closely associated with Socio Economic Development which gives an insight to include inclusive practices in Higher Education for all categories of student and teachers for their future betterment. The international standards and regional standards will be understood through such Education. There is an urgent need, for high level and multidisciplinary research in India to acquire quality of excellence. Teacher Training is also a key area which needs special thought. The participation and motivation of teachers to adopt innovative practices in the class room is assuming great importance. The introduction and understanding of issues like peace, growth, policy matters, role of youth, etc. can be imbibed by designing innovative programs. The inculcation of core values in the young minds and those from foreign lands can take up the benefit.

Always we are engaged for all round development of girl students which can be made to blend academic to enhance the skills and communication. As 21^st century is the era of Science and Technology, the e-Content Development for the process of teaching and learning is essential for effective teaching – learning process. Hence, e-learning environment in teaching and research will be made useful for the analysis in existing discipline. We decided to sign the MOU with different industries for the bright future and career of girl students.

Our Perspective for Healthy-leadership will be developed in teachers and non teaching staff by improving quality in education. Research paper writing, projects, and presentations for society will be taken on first priority. Healthy leadership will be developed in students to understand humanity and social understanding for the overall betterment of the state and the country. Hence, it is possible to deliver the message of good human behavior and understanding for the development of our country. Understanding the strengths and weaknesses in the available resources and for optimal utilization would be dealt on priority. To provide the best possible available resources and upgrade the same to meet future challenges would be my first concern. Enriching sports and cultural activities will have a special of development process. Connectivity of teachers with Learning Resource Centre has to be enhanced. In my college, 80% of Faculty members are Ph.D. holders and out of which 83.33% are Research Supervisors, recognized by Parent University and other Universities.

Smt. Sushiladevi Dehmukh Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Latur, offering single programme of Arts, is an evolving institution offering women’s education to the largest number of girl students from rural and urban area. My college is affiliated to Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded (M.S.). The College is conveniently located at Khadgaon Road (West zone of Latur). We offer undergraduate facility in Arts with various discipline components as the optional subjects. Besides, we also run Beauty Parlour Course, Dress Designing Course, and Basic Computer Course etc. The Management is aware towards the higher education accessible to the girl students. Though, there are several restrictions that girl students face in contemporary society, we try our level best to motivate them and their parents for the holistic development of girl students in 21^st century.
