DEPARTMENT OF SPORTS PROFILE

INTRRODUCTION

          The Department of Physical Education & Sports establish in 1992 is unique and the first of its kind in Latur as an affiliatory College exclusively for Physical Education & Sports.

          Director of Physical Education for Mahila Senior College is Mrs. Girwalkar Sunita from 4 July 1990 to till in Smt. Sushiladevi Deshmukh Mahila Mahavidyalaya Latur.

          The College Sports Team participated in the Various tournaments under the auspices of Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University Nanded and Department of Sports and Youth Affairs Govt. of Maharashtra and invitation Tournments. The Department also proud to have Organized various Tournments. Talent of the students but also to help the students but also to help the students to improve upon their organization and leadership qualities.

          The Department Organized daily Practice session in the college, selected players represent the college Team, approximately 7 Teams Women’s participate in the tournaments.

          At present the college is one of the best sports centre in the city] providing scientific Coaching training facility not only to the S.S.D.M.M.L students college but to a large section of public and sports association for their programmers.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES Department of Sports

OBJECTIVE

  1. To prepare students for Inter Collegiate & Inter-University & Inter Zonal Tournaments.
  2. Impart Sports Knowledge to the Students.
  3. To create Team Sprit in Students.
  4. To develop their personality by sports.
  5. To create health conscious personality in students.
  6. To create a sense of friendship in students.
  7. To create of healthy society.

AIMS

  1. To guide and assist in the promotion of physical fitness among people.
  2. To inspire the players to participate in different yournaments
  3. To print and publish articles, periodicals and pamphlets on topic related.

ACTIVITIES

          Since the beginning of the college, had been contrivuted a lot in the sports Area such as state level, National Level and Inter University Level.

The Department of sports conducted various sports events competition in department such as Volley ball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Badminton, Crosscountry, Yogason, Malkhanm, Taykando, etc.

The Department organized daily practice session in the college, selected players represent the college Team, approximately in 8 events. Teams both in Women’s participate in the tournaments.

At present the college is one of the best sports centre in the city providing Scientific Coaching & Training.

PROSPECTIVE FUTURE PLANS

  1. To make the students of this institution sound, healthy and good citizen of India.
  2. To include the sportsmanship and Team Spirit.
  3. To Coach the players to made them International players.
  4. To promote the local games to the National.
